David Truesdale, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed Sunday, March 1, 2026, away leaving behind a legacy of laughter, gentleness, and boundless love. Known far and wide as the undisputed King of Dad Jokes, David never missed an opportunity to deliver a perfectly timed pun, a groan-worthy one-liner, or a mischievous grin that let you know another joke was on the way. His humor was constant, comforting, and uniquely his. Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven is in charge of arrangements. David had a deep love for science fiction and adventure. He could often be found immersed in epic tales from a galaxy far, far away in Star Wars, or embarking on heroic quests in The Legend of Zelda. Whether discussing starships, lightsabers, or legendary swords, his eyes would light up with the same wonder and excitement he carried throughout his life. These stories weren’t just entertainment to him — they were worlds of imagination he loved sharing with others. Above all, David adored his grandchildren. They were his pride, his joy, and his favorite audience. He had a remarkable gift that earned him the cherished title of “the baby and cat whisperer.” Babies and cats alike would curl up on his chest, soothed by his steady heartbeat and calm presence, drifting peacefully to sleep. Animals trusted him instinctively, and children felt safe in his arms. That quiet magic spoke volumes about the gentleness in his spirit. David was a man of deep kindness and steady love. He led with patience, compassion, and warmth. His presence made people feel at ease; his embrace made them feel at home. He loved fully and freely, and that love will continue to ripple through the lives of those who knew him. Though he has taken his final journey to the stars, the echoes of his laughter, the comfort of his calm, and the stories he shared will live on. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Amy W. Truesdale of Walls; his three children, Alisha (Alex) Mitchell of Texas, Desireeꜥ (Mitchell) Kaffer of Florida, and Devon (Jaclyn) Truesdale of Walls; his 8 eight beloved grandchildren; his siblings, Russell (Cindy) Phillips of Florida, Larry Phillips of Arizona, Bonnie (Rick) Killebrew of Idaho, Laura Truesdale, Dale Phillips, Michelle Valdez, and Sabrina (Ben) Hill of Florida; many friends and extended relatives.
