Cherlyn Ann Pirtle

Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven Ms. Cherlyn Ann Pirtle departed this life for a greater life with our Lord on September 5th, 2025, born on August 10th, 1958, to parents Mr. James and Mrs. Ardie Robinson. Both parents proceeded her in death. Cherlyn professed her belief in Christ at an early age and joined Union Spring M.B. Church, Whiteville TN and was a member until health issues brought her to Memphis, TN. There she became a member of Greater Faithstreet Baptist Church, Ronnie A. Turner, Sr. is Pastor, Cherlyn was a member of the Usher Board and recently a faithful Mother of the Church. Cherlyn will be remembered as funny, loving, caring, and kind-hearted. She had a gift for conversation and truly enjoyed “chit-chatting” with others. She made sure everyone around her was cared for, and she found joy in simple pleasures such as crosswords puzzles, word searches, and writing. Above all, she cherished time spent visiting with her grandchildren. Cherlyn was a strong and spiritual woman who not only raised her children, but she became a mother to the children of her three older sisters Lillie, LaVerne and Janis all proceeded her in death. Two brothers that also proceeded her in death Lorenzia and Dennis. Her favorite scripture 23rd Psalm, brought her great comfort throughout her Christian life. Cherlyn is survived by her children, Ms. April Scott of Southaven, MS, Mrs. Randia (Hubert) Perkins of Grand Junction, TN and Mr. Sean Terez (Marquita) Perry of Bolivar, TN; twelve grandchildren: Takaiden Perry, Takai Perry, Takaison Clemons, Takaila Clemons, Takaisean Clemon, Tycvian Douglas and Iviantae Perry, Adriane Pirtle, Juavante Pirtle, and Anesia Pirtle, Devin T. Scott, Terek M. Scott, Jr. and Donovan T. Scott who proceeded Cherlyn in death ; one great-grandson: Jaylon Pirtle; three siblings Ms. Denise Woods, Mr. Dimitric (MaRhonda) Robinson, and Mr. Paul (Iris) Robinson all of Memphis. One aunt Minnie Sain and one uncle Bobby (Jean) Woods. Cherlyn leaves a host of nieces, nephews and cousins and many dear friends. A visitation will be held Friday, September 12, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven. A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation prior starting at 10:00 a.m., all at Greater Faithstreet Baptist Church (1008 East McLemore Memphis, TN 38106). Pastor Ronnie Allen Turner, Sr., will officiate. Interment will be at Union Springs Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery where Pastor Marlin Wooden will officiate.
