Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch David Harold Holloway, 77, of Hernando, MS, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026. Friends are invited to a visitation with the family on Friday, May 29, 2026, at LaBelle Haven Baptist Church in Olive Branch from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., with the service to follow at 12:00 p.m. Bro. Tal Brower will officiate. David was born on September 22, 1948, in Big Creek, MS. David served our country honorably in Vietnam for the United States Army as a Ranger. He was a decorated veteran who earned medals for his service, including a Silver Star, a Bronze Star with Valor, a second Bronze Star, a Marksmanship medal, and many more. He was a devout Christian and a member of LaBelle Haven Baptist Church. David was an avid fisherman and though his passing was unexpected, he passed while doing what he loved the most – fishing. When he wasn’t fishing, he also enjoyed playing games such as dominoes and chess. David loved his family and spending time with his kids, even the ones who didn’t belong to him. He was loved by so many and quickly became a “Papaw” to them. He was married to the love of his life, Bonnie, for 51 years. Together they built a wonderful life full of fun, laughter, and love. David was preceded in death by his parents, Kathryn and Winfred Holloway, and his sister, Brenda Green. David was survived his wife, Bonnie Holloway of Hernando, MS; daughter, Amanda Vickers of Southaven, MS; sons, Keith Holloway (Jody) of Cockrum, MS, and Daniel Holloway (Mandy) of Independence, MS; grandchildren, Katy Vickers of Southaven, Zac Vickers (Emma) of Southaven, Kaitlin Harpole (Payton) of Senatobia, MS, Leevi Holloway of Cockrum, Madi Saunders of Independence, Claire Holloway of Hernando, and Jackson Holloway of Hernando; Larry Holloway (Gail) of Coffeeville, MS, sisters, Barbara White of Bruce, MS, and Becky Stam of Eustis, FL; a host of nieces, nephews, and the many others who loved him and considered him “Papaw.” In lieu of traditional flowers, donations may be made in David Holloway’s name to The Student Ministry at LaBelle Haven Baptist Church (www.labellehaven.org).
