Jonnitta Nicole Major Walton

Jonnitta Nicole Walton, 38, of Gary, IN., passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at home with her devoted husband and close-knit family by her side. A visitation will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with a celebration of life immediately following at 2:00 p.m., all at Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven. Interment will be held at Desoto Memorial Gardens. Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven is in charge of arrangements. Jonnitta was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her. Known for her beautiful smile and adorable dimples, she had a warmth and kindness that made everyone feel welcome. Her joyful spirit and genuine heart left a lasting impression on family, friends, and even those she met only briefly. Jonnitta married the love of her life, Adam Walton May 16, 2008. Their eighteen years marriage is a testament to their sacrificial love. Together they had a bond that could not be shaken. Jonnitta was also a devoted mother; her greatest pride was her family. She nurtured those she loved with unwavering support, compassion, and encouragement. Her dedication to her husband and children was evident in everything she did, and the love she shared will continue to guide them for years to come. Jonnitta was also a loyal and cherished friend. She had a gift for bringing people together and making others feel valued. Her caring nature, infectious smile, and ability to find joy in everyday moments made her someone everyone enjoyed being around. The Most High resonated throughout her life and her lifestyle. Jonnitta lived a life of faith, mercy, and grace. She was committed to her beliefs and she did not waiver. The word of God was her compass. Every choice she made was based on His laws, statues and commandments. Jonnitta was dedicated to being a virtuous woman. Committed to helping others, Jonnitta was pursuing her Master's Degree in Social Work from Purdue University, working diligently toward a career that reflected her compassionate heart and desire to make a difference in the lives of others. Her determination, intelligence, and dedication were an inspiration to those around her. Though her time here was far too short, Jonnitta's legacy of love, kindness, friendship, and perseverance will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always. Jonnitta is survived by her husband, Adam Walton of Southaven, MS; her eight children, Anthony Walton of Gary, IN, Adam Walton, Sariyah Walton, Eylon Walton, Maccabe Walton, Annah Walton, Lemuel Walton and Ethan Walton, all of Southaven, MS; her mother, Senita Henderson of Omaha, NE; her grandmothers, Patsy Stewart of Omaha, NE, and Johnetta Perez of Las Vegas, NV; her five siblings, Christal Watson of Gary, Alicia Henderson of Vicksburg, MS, Feleshia Davis of Fishers, IN, Leeshay Meeuwenberg (Matthew) of Grant, MI, and Lamar Henderson (Tiffanee) of Omaha, NE, her parents in love Anthony and Violet Walton, her bonus siblings, Robert Thomas of Gary, IN. Anthony Walton of Dallas, TX, Ashley Walton of Southaven, Erin Hearne (Roderick) of Bryan, TX, and Alexandria Richard (Jalen) of Las Vegas; and an immeasurable amount of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her biological Father John Major and her Father by love, Christal Henderson.
