In Loving Memory of Mary Jane Dixon Ammar Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend Mary Jane Dixon Ammar, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, 75, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2025, at her home in Nesbit, MS. She was a fighter—strong in spirit, unwavering in love, and full of life until the very end. She was a good woman, whose warmth, humor, and zest for living left a mark on everyone lucky enough to know her. Funeral services to honor her memory will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025. A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. and a funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m., both at Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven (626 Star Landing Road, East, Southaven, MS 38672). The committal will be held at DeSoto Memorial Gardens (630 Star Landing Road, East, Southaven, MS 38672) where she will be laid to rest. Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Ammar leaves her three children, Ammar Leon (Note) Ammar of Lake Cormorant, MS; Jo-Anna (Robby Still) Stancil of Dallas, GA, and John Pate of Mableton, GA; her precious grandchildren, Mary Katlyn (Casse) Pate of Austell, GA, Sean Pate of Sandy Springs, GA, Blake Hawkins of Dallas, GA and Jase Worsham of Douglassville, GA; her former husband, Ammar (Olga) Ammar of Lake Cormorant; her three siblings, Joan Beard of Southside, AL, Janet Reeves of Destin, FL, and David (Dawn) Dixon of Birmingham, AL; her beloved Pomeranian, Roxy; her nieces and nephews, many friends and extended family to cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her son, Adam Ammar; her parents, Leon and Pauline Dixon; and her older brother, Larry Dixon. Jane filled every room with laughter, always ready with a joke or a story, often told between bursts of dancing and joy. Jane had a deep love for adventure—traveling far and wide with an open heart and curious spirit. Whether on a plane to a new destination or dancing under the stars, she embraced every moment as a gift. Above all, she loved fiercely. Her family was her heart. Her children, her pride. She gave her love freely, and in return, she was deeply cherished. Jane leaves behind a legacy of courage, joy, and boundless love. Her spirit will live on in every shared laugh, every journey taken, every song played loud enough to dance to. She taught us how to live fully—and how to love deeply.
